Broker titles

The two professional titles of brokers issued by the ChAD represent a high level of professionalism that is recognized throughout Quebec:
• Associate Insurance Broker (A.I.B.) and
• Chartered Insurance Broker (C.I.B.)

A broker keeps his professional title inasmuch as his broker certificate is in good standing. If he becomes an agent or if he loses his certificate, he can no longer use his professional title.

How to obtain a title

A broker who wishes to obtain a title must provide:
• A letter describing his request, with his personal contact information
• A photocopy of the certificate issued by l’Autorité des marchés financiers
• A photocopy of his report cards (Cegep, university)
• A cheque for the amount of $125. (taxes included)
Note: Expect 30 days to process a request, from the date the ChAD receives it.

How to obtain a diploma

When a broker obtains his professional titles, he receives a diploma that is certified by the ChAD. The broker’s photo will also appear in ChAD Presse.

In order to receive a new copy of a diploma, simply contact ChAD and send us a payment of $25.00 (plus taxes).

New!

Professionals who have interrupted their practice during more than five years can now ask for their title as an Associate Insurance Broker (A.I.B.) or as a Chartered Insurance Broker (C.I.B.) when their certificate is reinstated. To do this, all they have to do is provide a photocopy of the certificate emitted by the Autorité des marchés financiers, with a photocopy of their diploma.
