Rules of AccreditationThe ChAD is responsible for developing a Compulsory Professional Development program that is based on the accreditation of high-quality training activities. All accredited activities must therefore: • aim to increase ChAD members’ expertise in the field of damage insurance and claims adjustment;
The ChAD recognizes activities that last a minimum of one hour. No fractional PDUs may be granted. If the case arises, fractions of PDUs are rounded up. Meal breaks are not counted in calculating the length of an activity.
PDUs are granted for training activities offered at: • a convention • a seminar
• training activities designed to promote a damage insurance product; • Writing and publishing articles or books.
Distance or on-line training Please note that in order to be granted accreditation, distance or on-line training must include a summative evaluation and a final mark. The passing grade for members is 60%. The method of evaluation as well as the name of an experienced trainer must be described in the documentation that accompanies the application for accreditation. An activity’s accreditation remains valid for two (2) years.
Further Requirements • all applications for accreditation must be submitted at least 30 days before the training activity is held. • any replacement or addition of a new trainer must be notified to the ChAD.
