The Syndic has Contacted Me

The role of the syndic

The role of the syndic is part of the ChAD’s core mission, which is to:

• Protect the public
• Maintain discipline

In practical terms, it is the syndic’s responsibility to carry out investigations in order to ascertain whether the actions of members of the ChAD in the exercise of their profession are in compliance with their Code of ethics and with the Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services and its regulations. Depending on the circumstances, the syndic can file a formal complaint with the ChAD’s discipline committee or take any other measure it deems appropriate.

Your obligations

If the ChAD syndic contacts you, this means that it is carrying out an analysis or an investigation and that it seeks to clarify a situation where something seems wrong. The certified person or firm has the obligation* to respond promptly to any request or correspondence from the office of the syndic.
